Clifton Village is part of the Clifton West Ward on Nottingham City Council .
The village represented by two councillors who work directly with residents on local issues including planning, community safety, waste and street services, transport, and neighbourhood improvements:
Residents are welcome to attend councillor surgeries — these are informal drop-in sessions designed for you to raise local matters face-to-face. Upcoming dates, times and locations are usually listed on the city council’s website or on each councillor's social media pages
Councillors Andrew Rule and Hayley Spain hold a joint surgery at Silverdale Community Centre on the first Wednesday of every month, between 5:45pm and 7:15pm.
You can contact either councillor directly using the details below. Emails are often best for straightforward queries and arranging a time to discuss more complex issues.

I have lived in Clifton West for over 15 years and was first elected as a councillor for the ward of Clifton North in 2015 and have represented Clifton West since it was formed in 2019.
Whilst representing the Clifton Village, I have secured protective barriers to prevent illegal encampments on the Green gaining access and introduced measures to reduce the impact of student parking in the village.
Outside of politics I am involved with several local organisations including Good Companions, Clifton Parkrun, and in my spare time I enjoy running, gardening and motor sport.
I am a frequent visitor at the Village Hall where I hold regular ward surgeries to discuss local concerns.
A resident of Clifton herself, Hayley Spain was elected to represent the Clifton West ward in May 2023, standing for the Labour Party. Since taking office, she has been an active voice within the council, serving on several key committees including the Planning Committee Clifton Neighbourhood Board and the Greater Nottingham Light Rapid Transit Advisory Committee. Her role involves balancing the growth of the city with the specific needs of the Clifton, Wilford and Silverdale areas.
In her capacity as a local representative, Hayley works closely with residents to address issues ranging from transport links to environmental maintenance. She conducts regular ‘doorstep surgeries’ across the ward talking to as many residents as possible. She also works closely with the local MP, Lilian Greenwood.
She is also a community governor at Farnborough Spencer Academy in Clifton.
She holds regular joint surgeries with Cllr
Rule at Silverdale Community Centre, ensuring a collaborative approach to ward
issues like community centre funding and local
planning applications.
Residents can often
find her at the Lark Hill Retirement Village or
the Clifton Library where she
maintains an open-door policy for constituents
to share feedback on city-wide policies and
local improvements.
